Information About California Bar Exam 2013

California bar exam 2013 will be administered in February and July as has been the tradition. Applications for July examinations open on the first day of March. The graduating class or anyone willing to sit for these examinations is required to sign up in advance. This will enable him or her get preferred examination site.

Every candidate who wishes to be considered must have submitted Moral Character application as well as fingerprints. This must be done in advance to give sufficient time for verification. Moral Character Applications should commence before the first day of January. This is for anyone who wishes to be considered in the July sitting.

Moral Character Application takes a period of 8-10 months to complete. No one will be admitted to the bar or allowed to sit for the examination until such verifications are complete and a positive feedback given. This has necessitated the deadline for submission to be pushed to April 2nd. The date gives enough time for thorough scrutiny considering that examinations take place on the 26th, 27th and 30th July.

Several issues may be covered by the examinations including civil procedures, law of contracts, will and successions as well as criminal law. Every candidate is required to sit for a set of six essay questions, two tests on performance and the MBE or Multistate Bar Examination. These are the three sections into which the exams are divided.

65% of the marks come from essay questions and performance tests. 35% is supplied by MBE. Most states demand that their attorneys sit for the MBE examination. Every candidate must take the tests at the same time. No one will be allowed to breakdown the sections for whatever reason.

Registration by California State Bar is a must for California bar exam 2013 candidates. This requirement is also held for anyone wishing to take Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination. Moral Character application must return a positive verdict. California Bar Examination applications forms must have been submitted and approved before being allowed to sit for the examination. All these requirements set the bar high for candidates.

Guidelines have been provided for candidates who wish to use lap tops. They must have examination security software. Applications must be submitted in advance since the slots available are limited. All deadlines set must be adhered to as well as the guidelines for use.

Any student with either a chronic medical condition, physical or learning disability may make a request to be accommodated over the examination period. Such application must be made well in advance. This is to facilitate proper and comfortable arrangement. Some requirements must be fulfilled and such candidates are required to contact examiners for further details. One should not assume availability of space because he or she has been receiving the same in graduate school.

Release of results for California bar exam 2013 is split into two phases. February candidates get their results towards the end of May, while July test results are released by close of November. A ceremony to swear-in successful grandaunts in held early December.
