One can only conduct a fingerprint search in the state of Alabama. One is only allowed to obtain a copy of their personal file, however, a court order is needed should anyone need to obtain a copy of the criminal record of another person. Retrieval of the record would cost only $25 and the payment has to be sent through a money order addressed to the Department of Public Safety. It is necessary to give the office a maximum of 10 business days for the record to be obtained and sent to the office.

A mail order can be processed if going to the office is not possible, however, all the requirements has to be enclosed on the envelope.
