How Consumer Debt Collection Could Have Helped WrestleMania Buyers

By Rob Sutter

WrestleMania XXIX aired the other night and it was a show that disappointed me on many fronts. While I didn't have high hopes for the show going into it, I wished that the event would have blown me away and proved all of my suspicions wrong. This was not the case and I was glad that I was able to watch the show with a group as opposed to by myself. I was able to split the cost evenly but for those who paid full price, maybe they have more of a reason to contact companies in terms of consumer debt collection.

First off, the show had far too many video packages showcasing the matches to take place during the night. Yes, these are needed to build up bouts but for them to take up so much time during the show simply baffles me. It's because of these videos, as well as meaningless other examples, that some contests were cut out of the event entirely. I think it goes without saying that people who paid for the show were going to be upset with so much filler clogging up time.

I also have to wonder how many people actually desired the kinds of segments that the show put on. I don't know how many Diddy fans were in attendance that night but I can imagine that very few of them demanded a concert in a wrestling show. While Living Colour performed as well, it had a purpose as the band performed to play the entrance music of CM Punk. The otherwise empty showcases, though, only took away a good portion of time away from the actual competitors.

The show itself went at a minimum of $60 and you can be certain that consumers, for the most part, were cheated out of a good portion of money. How many people would actually be so angry as to take up consumer debt collection services, though? I think that a good number of people would believe that they were cheated out of a premium price. For such a cost, there should be a service given and it's the kind of claim that I would see being supported by reputable agencies such as R.R.S.

WrestleMania has always been regarded as the biggest wrestling showcase but these days it doesn't seem to hold as much weight. I think that this show has the potential to be excellent but it seems like there are one too many missed opportunities. I believe that these shows should be crammed with more action. Debt collection could potentially be the path to take if the consumers who paid full price desired to be compensated for the amount that was put into the pay-per-view to begin with.
